Verona from Romeo & Juliet
Verona became world famous for the tragic story of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Couples in love, or not, from all over the world line up to visit Romeo and Juliet's house. But the city offers much more! It contains an old medieval neighborhood and a huge Roman amphitheater from the 1st century, the Arena of Verona. Famous events take place at the Arena, such as concerts by famous bands and the best Operas in the world.
Walking through the city, traces of different architectural styles such as Roman, Medieval and Renaissance are evident, which makes for a rich combination of beauty and history. In Verona is located the square that for many is one of the most beautiful in Italy, Piazza delle Erbe.
